My teaching career includes 25 years of teaching first and second graders, two years as a curriculum support specialist, and my current position as a reading interventionist and literacy coach. Over the years I have served on many district and school committees. Currently I am a member of the District Language Arts Committee, Shady Lane's Reading Goal Team (co-chair,) and Shady Lanes Leadership Team.
I have also received the Superintendents Child Advocacy Award, attended the Summer Reading Institute at Columbia Universitys Teachers College, served as a Supervising Teacher for Concordia University Graduate Reading Students and I have been trained in the Comprehensive Intervention Model and in Orton-Gillingham Interventions. I have also presented at various reading conferences including the Wisconsin State Reading Association Convention and the Illinois Comprehensive Literacy and Reading Recovery Conference.

As a reading interventionist I work with students one-on-one and in small groups. I also provide professional development and support to staff in the areas of reading and writing in my role as literacy coach.
